I'm incredibly lucky to have the job that I have. I get to photograph really wonderful occasions. I have been part of some imaginative advertising campaigns and I think quite often it is my commercial side that cuts into my creative process and I can use my documentary photography to create images worthy of being used to sell lifestyles and products. That said I never forget that you are after a lasting record of your wonderful day. I just think that when I am subconsciously capturing the next frame I have a bias towards the overall narrative of what's unfolding before my eyes. That is indeed a real privilege.

Most couples book me for the entire day from morning to capture the getting readies, right through to the last of the action. That can mean I am with you for up to 12 hours so it's best that we get on! I have been a professional photographer producing this style of documentary photography for over 30 years and I have a very good knowledge and experience of how to be and how to get the very best out of all the documentary photography moments of the day. My next encounter with Scotland the Bride and Groom had three feet of snow on the ground!
